I have met and screened 9 students this week. I have 5 more to go. It looks like I am going to have an incredible class this year! As of now we have 14 friends in my class. We will probably gain a couple more in the next week or two. We have painted our portraits, made and played with play dough, read Miss Bindergarten Gets Ready for Kindergarten, Talked about our school rules, read Bethy Bear, Bethy Bear Who Do You See? (it is a book with the adult school friends that your child will meet and learn from here at Centennial) Met all of our Specials teachers and even taken a nap or two. I am looking forward to next Wednesday when all my school friends will join me in my class.
Please remember: Your child picks up on your feelings, worries, and fears. If your are crying when you drop them off they think there is something to be afraid off. Try to hold the tears in until you turn the corner -once you have dropped them off. I do know that it is a milestone for your child and you when they leave you all day for Kindergarten and I understand the feelings well. Holding those tears in will just makes it easier for them.
Be your child's cheerleader as they come into this new school life!
